Comparing the price per kilo of meat is only useful if the products are comparable. A small package of minced meat, another package of mixed bone-in, and two pieces of steak are not three prices for the same item. Before looking for the cheapest, determine the type of meat, processing and weight you need.
The basic calculation
Divide the final package price by its weight in kilograms. If the package is 500 g, its weight in the equation is 0.5 kg. For mathematical clarification only, a hypothetical package priced at 40 riyals and weighing 500 grams is equivalent to 80 riyals per kilo. These numbers are examples and are not the prices of ALRAQI MEATS products.
What if the weight is a range?
If the product is within a range, do not display an accurate price per kilo before knowing the actual weight. You can calculate a rough range for comparison or use the minimum weight as a conservative estimate. Check whether the price displayed is for the whole package, per unit or per kilo.
Elements that may change the comparison
The presence of the bone, the type of piece, whether the product is raw or cooked, the contents of the box, and delivery and preparation fees. Also be sure to compare the final amounts on a single tax basis; Don't compare a before-tax number to an after-tax number.
How do you rate the offer?
Ask first whether you need the quantity, then calculate the final cost, then think about your ability to use it and save it. Reducing the nominal price does not guarantee that the offer is more suitable for your consumption. If you're only cooking one meal, there may be less waste with a smaller package even if the price per kilo is slightly higher.
An applied example without fixing prices
